Thanks to Caleb for these notes!
old R.C. Decides that it is time for some reflections on his current state
he looks back and realizes that he has no expectation of anything coming from the rest f the world
Robinson Crusoe* decides that he actually has no desire to live in the civilized world
no wickedness of civilization, i. e. pride, corruption, temptations, etc.
he was lord and master of all he surveyed on
his
island
many natural resources that were his to use
grapes
wood
wild grain
EPIPHANY TIME!!!
he realized by his four years on the island that all that could be used was all that was useful
to clarify, people cannot enjoy more than they use; there is no want, only need
even a mine's worth of diamonds would have no purpose
he becomes more optimistic about life :
\
his condition is much better than he first expected it to be
he thinks about how the simple moving of the ship closer to shore saved him
he would not be able to get food
he realizes that his condition on the island is much better than almost any other situation wherein one would stranded on a remote island
he had a backwards karma payout(he did bad things, but God's fortune still smiled upon him)
his ink was running on empty
his clothes began to rot away
